چکیده
This paper provides background to the coke strength after reaction (CSR) test and gives perspective regarding changes in the cokinp coal market. It provides it sumtnary of some of the predicted relationships hctween the ash chemistry of coal, and coke properties of British Columbia coals. A brief overview iIf the ash chemistry of British Columbia coking coals is presented. The data arc used to comment upon the potential coke strength after reaction (CSR) of these coals based on their ash chemistry. Finally comparisons are made ‘with coals from other part\ of Canada, U.S.A and Australia.

Analysis of Petroleum Cokes and Coals for Export Specifications Required in Use
Quality of petroleum cokes and coals has been evaluated for export specifications required in use of specialty products and utility bels. Various green and calcined cokes, produced at refineries m California, and coals for shipment are sampled at California and national ports, and analyzed by using ASTM Methods. Quality analysis reports include: proximate and ultimate analyses, metals, tu, dens...
متن کاملSource and Distribution of Phosphorus in British Columbia Coal Seams
Phosphorus contents of coal from around the world vary although there is a tendency for Permian coals from India and Australia, and Cretaceous coals from Western Canada to have more phosphorus than Carbcmiferous coals from Europ+ and USA (Table 1). This may be because of the evolution of vegetation type over geological time or because of the conditions in the coal swamps. Data presented here su...
متن کاملSemi-coke briquettes: towards reducing emissions of primary PM2.5, particulate carbon, and carbon monoxide from household coal combustion in China
Direct household use of unprocessed raw coals for cooking and heating without any air pollution control device has caused serious indoor and outdoor environment problems by emitting particulate matter (PM) and gaseous pollutants. This study examined household emission reduction by switching from unprocessed bituminous and anthracite coals to processed semi-coke briquettes. Two typical stoves we...
متن کاملUpgradation of High Sulfur NE Region Indian Coals by Pyrolysis in Presence of Hydrogen
In order to utilize high sulfur (3-6%) coals in various industries which otherwise cannot be utilized directly or even as a blend, studies on pyrolysis of four high sulfur NE regions Indian coals viz. 60ft Tikak, 20ft Tikak, Surupi and Bapung coal from Makum Coalfields of Meghalaya in presence of hydrogen were carried out at 900C. The steam was generated by heating waste water followed by its s...
متن کاملWashability Characteristics of British Columbia Coals
As part of the British Columbia Geological Survey Branch’s Coal Quality Pmject, washability characteristics of coals from all parts of the province are being compiled (see manuscript S-l, this volume, for descriptions of other ongoing coul quality studies). The interpretation of these data will provide insight into the geological basis of washability. and hopefully provide practical information...
